1. Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic
Cesky Krumlov is located on a winding stretch of river Vltava. It is a beautiful medieval town in the southern part of the Czech Republic, not far from border with Austria. The center of the old town is excellently preserved, and it is located on the shores of the river.
It has numerous attractions dating from fourteenth to seventeenth century. The most famous one is its magnificent Gothic castle which was built in the thirteenth century, and in the sixteenth it was transformed into a Renaissance castle. The complex is so large, with more than 40 separate buildings, that guides organize three different tours. Among the interesting things you can see are the carriages from the 17th century, made entirely of 24-carat gold which have been used only once.
